100 Things

Here we go - 100 Things, in no particular order.

001. I was born in Millington, Tennessee and lived there for approximately a nanosecond.
002. I grew up in the central valley of California.
003. I attended SDSU.
004. I moved from San Diego to the Bay Area with very little cash, no job, and no place to live. A generous friend let me crash on her couch for a few weeks.
005. I got married at 33.
006. I think my darling husband is wonderful, of course! And he's a graphic designer, available for freelance work. :-)
007. We got married here, Swedenborgian, and I highly recommend it.
008. We met online.
009. We had our reception dinner for 14 guests, here, Millennium, and loved every bite.
010. 100% addicted to reality television.
011. I am a lover of cupcakes.
012. I've powerwalked 3 1/2 marathons.
013. I've been a vegetarian since Oct. 1997.
014. That's when I gave up fish.
015. Prior to that, I had started giving up one animal at a time in 1995.
016. So, it took me about 2 1/2 yrs to make the full transition.
017. I get plenty of protein.
018. I worked at Sea World for just about 6 years.
020. I was a narrator, tour guide, and events planner there.
021. I miss planning events.
022. I love a good party. And really, maybe it's the planning I love the most.
023. I've waited my fair share of tables. Brunch is a great money maker!
024. But, man oh man, it's labor intensive. Brunch is condiment heavy: ketchup, hot sauce, milk, creamer, honey, jam, butter, salsa, syrup, sugar, etc.
025. I've worked as a temp, an employment coordinator, a recruiter, and an account manager at a temp agency.
026. I'm a buyer at the moment.
027. I love to cook.
028. I love to bake.
029. I've belonged to the same book group since 1997.
030. I'm trying to be a knitter.
031. I've been a ceramist off and on over the years. Mostly off the past several years.
032. Huge fan of tea, and especially High Tea.
033. To date, I've been a bridesmaid five times.
034. I've traveled a fair amount.
035. Been to Barcelona.
036. Paris, twice.
037. London, twice.
038. Amsterdam, twice.
040. Munich & Frankfurt.
050. Brugges.
051. Florence.
052. Salzburg.
053. NYC, lost count.
054. St. John, USVI
055. I'm 5'4".
056. I have blue eyes.
057. I have brown hair.
058. I rarely wear makeup.
059. I have a small tattoo on my inner right ankle: Libra zodiac sign.
060. I've performed in a few plays.
061. All of them pretty bad. Well, some were better than others, that's for sure.
062. I was an extra in a made-for-TV movie that had Moon Zappa in it.
063. I have no idea what the name of it was, or if it ever made to TV.
064. Am I dating myself with the Moon Zappa comment? Yeah, probably. :-)
065. I've done voiceover work.
066. A long time ago.
067. In college, I was pretty involved in competitive speaking and debate.
068. One of my speeches won a few awards.
069. However, when I gave said speech in a non-competitive setting, I completely froze up and forgot where I was.
070. Yep, that was embarrassing.
071. But, I pulled it together and moved on.
072. I have an unnatural fear of snails.
073. Even though they won't chase me, I stop dead in my tracks when I encounter one.
074. I'm righthanded.
075. But left leaning.
076. Oh, I almost forgot I've been to Montreal. I liked it there.
077. Went in May expecting perfect spring weather and brought shorts & rollerblades.
078. Traveled there via an overnight Greyhound bus from NYC.
079. When I woke up in Canada, it was snowing!
080. I grew up camping and fishing.
081. I miss camping.
082. But not fishing.
083. I've gone backpack camping.
084. I've been foraging for wild foods.
085. Found ramps, wild ginger, stinging nettles, and fiddleheads.
086. It was quite the wild foods feast!
087. However, it did not agree me with all...
088. We bought our first house almost exactly one year ago.
089. After looking at over 400 homes in a year and a half.
090. We're picky.
091. I love getting flowers!
092. I am a fan of the movies.
093. Even the previews.
094. I love a good sidecar, with sugar on the rim of the glass.
095. I always move the glass for each sip so that I end up drinking all the sugar. Yum.
096. I prefer a long hot soak in the tub over a shower any day.
097. With lots and lots of bubbles, candles, magazines, and sometimes wine.
098. My perfect lunch is a nice salad, crisp french fries, and a glass of champagne.
099. I have a touch of the rosacea.
100. But you can call me "rosy cheeks." :-)
